An Inter Unit solo singing competition by Eastern Region-II showcasing the in-house musical talents of the region titled “Musical Extravaganza-2023” was held for the first time at NTPC on 30th March,2023 at Bhubaneswar.

The program was inaugurated by Shri Ashim Kumar Goswami, Regional Executive Director (ER-II) in the presence of Smt. Manjari Goswami, President, Vasudha Mahila Mandal, ER-II and Business Unit Heads of various sites of ER-II- Shri K S Sundaram, Executive Director (TSTPS), Shri Gautam Deb, ED(Talcher Thermal Power Station) and Shri A. K. Tandon, CGM(Darlipali).

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ashim Kumar Goswami spoke on the talented employees of each station of ER-II and their interest in music and melody. Shri Goswami highlighted the fact, the program which is first of its kind in NTPC is aimed to engage the employees, create a healthy bond of team (spirit and camaraderie among various sites of NTPC. He also spoke on the fact that similar programs depicting the art and culture as well as giving NTPC employees a forum to express their hidden talents will be held by the region in the coming days. The Business Unit Heads of various units of ER-II also spoke on the noble initiative of ER-II and underlined the fact that such programs create a positive environment in the organisation and brings employees under one roof.

Shri Saurabh Mukherjee from NTPC, North Karanpura was adjudged as the winner, while Ms. Susmitha Choudhary from NTPC, Talcher Kaniha and Shri Prem Magar from NTPC, Bongaigoan won the Second and Third positions, respectively.

A total of 12 participants (2 each from ER-II sites and Regional Headquarters) which comprised of employees and spouses’ of NTPC ER-II stations including the Regional Headquarters participated in the program. The participants were selected based on the trial round by respective stations of ER-II. The participants sang various melodious songs in a two round evaluation process which was judged by eminent singers and musicians of repute from Bhubaneswar.

All the participants were also felicitated on the occasion.

The program was attended by Heads of HR of various sites of HR and officials of Regional Headquarters.
